Located 8 km from McLeod Ganj Bus Stand and 13 km from Dharamshala Bus Stand, Guna Devi temple is a renowned Hindu temple in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.
Situated at an altitude of 2310 m in Kangra Valley, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and serves as a pilgrimage site for the Gaddi shepherds, a semi-nomadic tribe from Chamba district. Surrounded by oak and deodar forests, the temple offers breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar Mountains.
The one-day trek to the temple begins from Naddi village, followed by a moderate 2 km trail through Naddi village and Baal village, taking around 2 hours.
The temple provides overnight shelter facilities, and there are small shops offering refreshments like Maggi,tea.
The trek begins with a levelled walk, passing through the Tibetan children village and Naddi village, leading us to Bahl village.
From there, a steep ascent of about an hour takes us to Guna Devi, a small Hindu temple situated in the midst of the forest. This temple attracts pilgrims from nearby villages and offers beautiful views of the Dhauladhars.
